Styling Inspiration – Polyvore Play

I’m in love with these Balmain skinnies.

I created a look around these beauties using clothing from NET-A-PORTER taken from a dream of a website called Polyvore (which many of you will have heard me mention before – here is another styled outfit).

It’s a look suited to a lady who likes to combine her textures and dress to impress.  Using layering, leather and print, an otherwise classic look has been transformed into an edgy little number perfect for a casual day in the city.

Balmain Fall 2011 + Freja Beha = GLAM ROCK

I apologise for my lack of blog posts – what with sorting things out for my 3 month trip to India, along with friend’s birthdays and the Retail Awards, it’s been a rather busy week.

Tonight I’m extremely tired – I got a little too merry last night (white wine is the devil) and now have partial memory loss, a rotten hangover and embarrassment of some rather off the hook (described by a dear friend) dance moves.  So I apologise if this isn’t as long and detailed as I’d like it to be but I wanted to put my love out there for Balmain’s new collection.  And also for the beautiful model that is Freja Beha Erichsen – and of her tattoos.  I’d pretty much want all of them (but they are individual to her) so I need to think up a special one to me…  The font used is Windsong apparently.

The recent Balmain Fall runway show in Paris cemented my love for the fashion house.  Here are two of my favourite looks from the show (mostly because they’re modelled by Freja) but I just think this is a match made in style heaven. Freja and Balmain are the perfect rock n’ roll combo, and with the David Bowie inspired glamour, embellished mirrored mosaic dresses, seventies influences, metallic fabrics and the trademark powerful sexiness of Balmain, this is glam rock for the modern woman at it’s very best.

Balmain you shall always be my favourite – the epitome of power dressing.

Serendipity Is Life

This Too Shall Pass

I heart Proenza Schouler SS11

Proenza Schouler SS11 was by far my favourite designer collection to hit the runways when it showcased last year.  I too, shall be hoping to sport delicate prints, sheer fabrics, statement necklaces and low slung skinny belts this season.

And Balmain, I think, shall always be a preference, with Christophe Decarnin’s sharp cropped pants, silky printed camisoles and edgy leather jackets.

Below are some of my favourite looks from the Proenza Schouler SS11 collection.  Feminine and powerful.
