Happy Feet

If you follow my Instagram, you’ll probably be aware that I’ve been in love with Toga Pulla boots, since, well forever. However, I’m rather resistant to spend $511 on a pair of boots – given my track record with being unable to keep them in pristine condition.

I do like a good dance, and I do love a good pair of black ankle boots, and it saddens me to think of the pairs I left behind in the UK going without that outing to the dance floor. But when I wear lovely boots out they tend to show proof of a good night the next day. My faithful (scuffed) French Connection’s, my perfect, or not so now (irreparable) Prada’s *sob*

So I’m obviously reluctant to spend a small fortune, even if they are the dream pair.

This is the Toga Pulla ankle cowboy boot, how God damn amazing are they?! They also come in suede. Dreamy.

So when I came across the Tony Bianco version of the Toga Pulla buckle boots on Instagram at a very reasonable $189.95, I knew it was meant to be!

Now these aren’t the exact same, that would be too good to be true, but, they will make my feet happy and in my eyes, they’re a pretty good match at a fraction of the price – without being cheaply made.

To make this purchase even better, I decided to search for a promo code on Google. Found one, popped it into the text box online and viola, a sweet $40 off. Absolute bargain.

They arrived this morning and I haven’t taken them off. Now plotting outfits, striped long-sleeved mini dress, ripped faded black denim jeans, One Teaspoon black denim cut offs…

If you’re tempted to make the same purchase, be quick, they only have certain sizes left.

I’ll leave you with my favourite track at the moment. Aussie boys. Haunting voice, still on repeat. Enjoy.

Toga Pulla

WANT WANT WANT…  more so than Acne Pistols, Senso or Wangs. Actually, maybe not more than Wangs but they are certainly up there at the top of my wish list with them.

“Inspired by the Wild West, the Buckle Boot by Toga Pulla is crafted in exceptionally luxurious Portuguese fabrications. Designed with a short stacked heel, the shoe features crossover strap detail, with polished silver buckles.”

“A former costume designer and stylist, Yasuko Furuta is the award-winning founder of Japanese label Toga Pulla. Her avant-garde vision combines elements of contemporary Western style with traditional Japanese design to create unique and striking footwear.”

Perfect with a ditsy floral mini dress, a sharp blazer and tee, or faded denim skinnys.

The question is – black leather or black suede?

Trying to be good – and perhaps leaning towards going gluten-free. I need to combat my banana bread addiction first. This is my lunch on a daily basis, it doesn’t get boring. It’s colourful and tasty.

I went to the fashion sale at The Winery in Surry Hills last weekend (which takes place the third Saturday of every month) and I bought this silver chunky beauty for just $10. I like big statement silver jewellery – and probably shouldn’t. I have tiny wrists.

At the same sale I also bought this brand new Shakuhachi dress for just $20. Possibly bargain of the year. The sale was held by ‘fashion’ girls. Selling their unwanted Chloe, Balenciaga, Camilla & Marc and other beautiful unwanted designer items for a fraction of  the original price. Why these were unwanted I will never know.

CHOIES Love

.

I love discovering new brands and Choies footwear has caught my eye.

Innovative designs at very reasonable prices.  If you’re on a budget, this is a great website to scour, with several of their designs mirroring the more expensive brands on the market like Senso and Balenciaga.

I especially love these metal toe-capped boots ($149.99)…

What a grey(marl) day…

Screen Shot 2012-12-19 at 11.46.35

I just love this perspex and jewelled necklace from Topshop – it would certainly look striking against an LBD or a grey marl tee.

Screen Shot 2012-12-19 at 17.19.01I’m getting this dress for my Birthday, and I think this perspex necklace would accessorize it perfectly. I’ve wanted a dress like this for a while now. Although simple, you could wear it in a number of ways and I just think it’s a great wardrobe staple. In jersey material, it’s super soft and easy-to-wear… and a perfect loose shape for when having eaten one too many mince pies!

With heels and tights, worn over skinny jeans or bare legs and shoe boots, the dress is a great blank canvas to whatever mood you’re feeling in that day… to dress up or down.

Screen Shot 2012-12-19 at 11.47.34

Personally I’m preparing myself to brace the cold, go bare-legged (add the fake tan – well, Dove moisturising gradual tanning lotion – I’m not brave enough to face the fear of streaks with actual fake tan) and wear it with a (new pair) of boots, but the question is, which ones do I opt for…  Topshop have some really great items in stock at the moment, making it really difficult to choose the perfect pair!  These are on my shortlist…

Screen Shot 2012-12-19 at 17.29.17Although, to be honest, after a little careful consideration and deliberation I think I’m more drawn to these below. I love the cut out detail and the silver also mirrors the gem detail in the necklace. I’m not what you would call a ‘girly girl’ and so a pair of chunky heels toughens up the look as a whole.

Screen Shot 2012-12-19 at 17.57.21

Messy hair, lashings of lip gloss, silver rings, a coloured chunky knit snood and a leather jacket. And viola, good to go.

And for the next look, I’m feeling the dress worn over jet black skinny jeans, sky-high ankle boots and a parka with contrast leather sleeves…

Just in case this turns out to be my last post before Christmas suddenly strikes upon us, MERRY CHRISTMAS ONE AND ALL!

Those boots are made for…

.

I love when the season changes to autumn winter in the fashion world, for one main reason. Black boots – flat boots, heeled boots, shoe boots, knee-high boots…

To some people they all look the same, to me, they are all works of art, architectural beauties which elevate you and are the perfect finish to an otherwise casual look.

Here are my top choices for the season ahead…

Topshop £120

Chloe at Farfetch £395

Stella McCartney at Farfetch £590

Zara £59.99

Reiss £195

Madonna at Selfridges £130

I really can’t decide which ones I like best – maybe I could get them all at a reasonable grand total of £1,489.99…?  Think I’ll be purchasing a few scratch cards tomorrow…

Sam Edelman or Jeffrey Campbell? Ohhh how I love booties…

25.07.11

I’ve been wanting a new pair of black booties for a while now and I couldn’t find any that I was in love with.  But now I’ve found two pairs and I LOVE both.

The Sam Edelman boots are feminine with an edge – an element of rock n’ roll and a little bit of tough.  The Jeffrey Campbell ones are just tough, really ‘tough’ and definitely not feminine in any way but that’s the way I usually like it.   I can always add a bit of girliness with a floral chiffon 90’s esq mini dress but otherwise I guess I’d rock these with skinny jeans and a sheer t-shirt… Grungy.

Which ones?  I can’t decide!
