Weekend fun in Moseley

Above is what I wore to a friend’s 30th Birthday in Moseley (Birmingham) on Saturday night.  The plan was to hit a few local pubs, so I kept it casual by wearing a tucked in denim shirt, a pair of black skinnys and my trusty heeled boots. I added a splash of colour with Barry M’s Coral coloured nail varnish and customised the shirt collar with screw back studs to change the look.

I don’t have any full outfit photos, so I’ve included a couple of images with the lovely girls!

Mixed Metals…

03.10.11 (Arggghh cannot believe it’s October already!)

So the weekend in London was a fun one; a boozy night at Box club in Soho, October sun in Finsbury Park, my beautiful girl friends hand in hand with Birthday tiaras, delicious cake and homemade cocktails… and I got to wear my new shooooess.  Well, boots to be exact, and I know I keep harping on about these French Connection booties but they’re so comfy and my new favourite thing in my wardrobe – perfect to dress up or down.

I’m down in London ever such a lot at the moment, and very much enjoying the city’s expanse and exciting twists and turns that Birmingham just doesn’t offer, I’m almost very tempted to make the London move (again).

It’s Monday and I had another day off in the sunshine, I started the day with a tune that I just can’t stop listening to *joy for your ears right below this copy*, along with a bit of reading from the Telegraph fashion freebies.  The freebies are my fave magazines – Sunday Times Style, Stylist and the Telegraph – I’m sorry to say it but for me they beat the monthly mags by a mile.

I forgot about the hot hot weather and donned my new footwear again for a day of family visits and an evening of drinks in Moseley.  Teamed with skinny cropped blue jeans from Topshop turned up at the ankle, a basic GAP baggy white tee and some silver/gold jewellery, I braved the heat and prepared for the discomfort.

Bearing in mind this is generally a fashion no go, I decided to mix my metals.  I however, like doing it, so mixing my gold and silver I left the house to catch a day of rays in rather ‘wintery’ boots and a fashion faux pas…

New Shoooooeeees?

As I’d been working so many hours over the last couple of months during SBL, I decided a little treat was in order.  One of the models working on the show wore a pair of sturdy ankle boots backstage one of the days and instantly I fell head over heels.  Pardon the pun.

You know when you have the perfect pair of boots in your mind and know exactly what you’re looking for but can’t seem to find them anywhere?  Well, this was the problem I had.  Arabella said that these beauties were purchased from French Connection.  Great news – rather worried that these would be ‘Prada darrrling.’  But at £180 these weren’t the cheapest ones I’d tried on in my hot pursuit of trying to find the perfect pair of boots to see me through AW11.

You may know that I had my sights set on a pair of Sam Edelman boots, however these weren’t meant to be.  Plus these ‘Joby’ ones are £40 cheaper – bonus.

Now I bought these online and they arrived yesterday and I am SO excited to wear them!  But the sun goes and comes out doesn’t it.  I’m not complaining, I’m loving this taster of an Indian summer and  I’m still planning on donning these beauties for a weekend in London – I’ll just team them with my cut off Levi’s and struggle with ridiculously hot feet.  Style over comfort every time.
