HOMIES: Brian Lichtenberg & Les Plus Dores

It’s all about the statement tees and sweaters right now. Well it has been for some time… but upon hearing that Tuchuzy (Bondi Beach, Sydney) have been blessed with exclusives, I’m just itching to get my hands on them, on all of them.

We’ve had Kenzo (still hankering over a tiger emblazoned sweater in emerald-green), and Henry Holland back in the day (yes, I guess I’m a slave to a micro-trend – I owned the UHU GARETH PUGH and GET YER FREAK ON GILES DEACON t-shirts), wow that was a fair few years ago – when Nu Rave reared its ugly head and many of us followed, including me embarrassingly.

However, these below are a little more subtle but give you the ability to add a quirky statement to whatever you please. With many in monochrome, they’re a blank canvas to accessorize and style accordingly.

Skinny jeans, leather pencil skirts, heels, flats, a blazer or oversized cardi, you can team these with so many pieces… and if they’re good enough for Cara and Rihanna

Brian Lichtenberg… and his take on Gucci, Celine and Hermes (ranging from $69 to $120)

Cara Delevingne

And Les Plus Dores (these are exclusive to Tuchuzy and priced at $99 a pop)

Rihanna wears Wang.

To me Alexander Wang can do no wrong.  His collections are all about the beautiful cut; wearable yet edgy, simple and beautifully designed…

Many of you will have probably watched X Factor and the final on Sunday evening.  I for one haven’t been watching it for the fashion, well no, actually I guess I did.  I did like to watch it and see what Tulisa would be wearing… I just don’t understand what look they/the Stylist on the show were going for sometimes. However, the styling is a million times better than X Factor USA.

Nicole on the other hand – well what a woman. She always looks (here it goes) SHAMAZING.

I was excited to see what Rihanna would be wearing for her live performance on the finale show… and well didn’t she look a vision? Her hair looks so much nicer short, and the outfit, well, it was Wang.

Perfect choice.

For SS13 Alexander Wang focused on minimalistic, verging on futuristic sportswear designs, like many of the designers did. You can see my Trend Round Up for SS13 (NYFW)  here….

Sharp cut out details and paneling, as well as leather, plays on shape, tones of colour and volume made the collection.

I can see why Rihanna opted for Look 36. She wears it well.

And personally, I will not be happy until I own a pair of these structured tall gladiator sandals.

The next look reminded me somewhat of a look from the Nicolas Ghesquière‘s Balenciaga collection for AW06/07. Both in monochrome, and not dissimilar in shape and volume.  Which I guess is quite funny, as Alexander Wang has now been named Balenciaga’s new Creative Director taking over from one of the most influential fashion designers of our time, Nicolas Ghesquière.

I love Alexander Wang and I love Balenciaga. But I do wonder how he will re-interpret the brands aesthetic, which will most certainly see the brand going in a more youthful direction. His look is very different; with athletic influences, it’s ‘urban’ and easy-to-wear (quite known for his jersey and relaxed silhouette), however, I’m very much looking forward to seeing his first collection for the fashion house.

Having come across these ferocious forms of fashion on a routine visit to Start-Boutique online, I simply couldn’t resist shouting about them on my first post as an actual blogger.  This swimsuit, in 3 different designs by Australian brand, We Are Handsome, is a definite head-turner.  I personally would show off one of these statement designs on a night out, complete with skinnys and chunky towering ankle boots.  A leather jacket over the top and viola!

At £189.50 a pop, yes these swimsuits are dear but just imagine the envy of fellow party/beach goers when you rock one of these.  Accessorize lightly with a few bangles, for these bodies speak for themselves.  The low scooped back also offers an alluring flash of a sexy part of the body.   I just LOVE all 3 of these designs, and simply wouldn’t know which one to pick!

Check out Rihanna here who opted for the Amazon Panther – definite beachside attitude.
